- The Texas
Hereford magazine is the Monthly publication of the
Texas Hereford Association. It is the only publication in Texas
devoted solely to Herefords. It includes news about the association,
news about Herefords, and timely editorial features. It has been
responsible for marketing and merchandising of thousands of Texas
Herefords all over the nation. Members and non-members
of the Texas Hereford Association may subscribe to Texas
Hereford.

Guidelines
- If you have created your ad on a
disk, these guidelines will help you get expected results:
Macintosh Platform
PREFERRED
No PC files can be processed by our graphics department but will be
forwarded directly to the commercial printing company.
ONLY ACCEPTABLE SOFTWARE: PLEASE SUBMIT

QuarkXpress 5.0
InDesign CS
Adobe Photoshop 7
A hard copy printout MUST BE SUPPLIED with all electronic
files (b/w laser if it is a b/w page or color laser if color page).
Otherwise we cannot accurately reproduce your file.
Page trim size is 8-1/2 x 11" with
any bleeds to be 1/8" larger each side than page trim size.
COLOR
Please notify Jack Chastain if submitting a color ad. Otherwise,
only black and white ads are acceptable. All color used in the ad
must be defined as CMYK process colors. No spot colors.
ILLUSTRATIONS
Any artwork created in an illustration program must have all text
converted to outlines (paths). Any artwork in the ad must be saved
as EPS files and sent along with the ad. |
SCANS/PHOTOS
All color photos should be converted to CMYK. All image resolutions
should be between 200-300 dpi and saved as either TIFF or EPS. Scans
should be done at 133 or 150 line screen. No low resolution (72 dpi)
scans/photos are acceptable. We can do the high resolution scans for
you if you are not able. Simply send your photos with the ad. Do not
place JPG or RGB photos in the ad. All photo scans should first be
properly sized in Photoshop and then placed in the the page layout
program.
FONTS
You must include BOTH the screen and printer fonts when you submit
your electronic file. PC fonts and TrueType fonts are not
acceptable. They will be replaced by our choice of Mac POSTSCRIPT
fonts.
